About Me

I’m Hayley, a 23-year-old mother to Scarlett, currently residing in Cardiff with my husband-to-be, Doug. I’m an event manager, web designer, writer and former pub landlady. My skill set is eclectic to say the least.
My music tastes are also eclectic, much to the horror of my friends who try to hide under the dashboard of my car when I’ve got Britney Spears blasting at full volume. Some of my friends are traumatised by me playing Lethal Bizzle whilst others are horrified by the sounds of Queensryche. My friends are also pretty eclectic.
I read books, poetry, comics and whatever else has words in or on it. My preferred genre of, well, everything, is SF. In my mind, SF stands for Speculative Fiction and therefore covers science-fiction as well as fantasy and horror (although less of the latter, it scares me). I also enjoy historical fiction and books about web design related matters.
I try to encourage and promote web standards, I tend to buy from indie sellers – local wherever possible, I run far too many non-profit events and I recycle, but only when it’s easy (which it is most of the time in Cardiff).
At the weekend, I’m either Live (Action) Role-Playing (LRP), at a convention (possibly helping to run it) or I’m on the internet. Some Sundays I go to church.
My ambition in life is to not have to worry about money. This is unlikely to be achieved (I’m a spender) without a lottery win (I’ve never bought a ticket) but it’s good to have something to aim for. Apparently.
